Who we are

This website is operated by Ouseburn Green Party, the ward campaign team for Ouseburn ward, part of Newcastle Green Party and the Green Party of England and Wales. Our contact email is [email protected].

What information we hold and why

We hold the following personal data about members and supporters:

  • Name, email address, and phone number — provided when you joined the Green Party or signed up to hear from us locally. We use this to contact you about local campaigning, events, and election activities.
  • Contact preferences — the choices you make on this site about how you'd like to be contacted. We use these to make sure we only contact you in the way that works for you.
  • RSVP and event attendance — if you sign up to events through this site, we record that to help us plan.

We process this data on the basis of legitimate interests (keeping members informed of local party activities) and, where you've actively made choices on this site, consent.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data within the Green Party of England and Wales for membership administration purposes. If you have opted in to WhatsApp or SMS contact, messages are sent via third-party services (WhatsApp / The SMS Works) solely to deliver those messages.

How long we keep data

We keep your data for as long as you remain a member or supporter, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of any queries. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).

Cookies

This site uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie:

  • Contains only a random session identifier — no personal data
  • Expires after 30 days, or when you log out
  • Is essential for the site to work — no consent is required

We do not use any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data
